Interested in healthcare, biotech, medtech, or pharmaceutical investments?

Want to learn how to value investments in the biotech market?

The SSB BioInvestment Competition aims to provide a learning environment for both novice and experienced investors.

By narrowing the focus of investments to the healthcare market we hope to gain insights from investments by assessing general trends that occur in this market.
-What events and forces make or break a company's success?
-What information should investors look for to anticipate change in markets?
-Does innovative research and development always correlate with company value?
-Are there unique factors that play into the valuation of companies in the healthcare sector?
-Does the best product line mean the best investment considering price to earnings ratios of stocks in this market?
-What does the stock price measure and is it possible to infer whether it will go up or down?

This competition leverages the power of MarketWatch's Virtual Stock Exchange to simulate trading to be as real as it gets without actually spending your own money. After participating, the competition should help you develop an intuition about which market forces will have what effects on healthcare companies. Free lunch discussion forums will help facilitate collaborative learning through the course of the competition. Look out for announcements about them!
