overview

Founded in Spring 2001, Stanford Student Biodesign (SSB) is a student organization with a diverse membership from undergraduates, graduate students, to post-docs. Overall, SSB aims to prepare members for careers in biomedical technology related fields through hands-on experience. Specifically, SSB provides extracurricular activities that refine technical, communication, presentation, and leadership skills essential to a profession in biomedicine. The scope of SSB includes, but is not limited to, biological and life sciences, medicine, biotech, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, medical technology, and the intersections of biomedicine, business, technology, law, engineering, science, and ethics.

Of the more than 800 members of SSB, a dedicated group of students form the core and primary driving force. Behind the scenes, meet the current students, interns, and faculty who make SSB happen.
